Our Herati saffron is pure super negin saffron directly from female-owned and operated land. It is single-origin and comes entirely from one crocus sativa farm. 

It truly is some of the best saffron that we have ever seen. In addition to the amazing quality of her product, our farmer is one of the few female-owned businesses in a male-dominated market and currently employed 28 women.

Afghani saffron is considered the best in the world, and we feel that saffron produced specifically in Herat is the best representation of Afghani saffron that we have had the privilege of working with.

Rich in antioxidants and an antimicrobial, studies have shown that saffron is used mindfully the benefits have shown to improve mood, support immune system health, restore retinal cells, can be used as a mild pain reliever, calm irritability symptoms of PMS, improve memory, and supports lowering cholesterol levels. Some studies have found it to be a cancer-fighting agent. Saffron has been used in studies to reduce the painful side effects of Alzheimer's and Parkinson's Disease.

In Ayurveda, saffron is seen as tridoshic (meaning, balanced across constitutions) and is used to treat Pitta disorders or imbalances. It has been used to treat arthritic symptoms of inflammation, acne, and blood stagnation.
